There are things in life that we don't know we need until we have them. For us, the Ember Mug 2 is such a product.

I was searching copper products on Amazon for my husband and my 7th year anniversary (copper being the theme for 7 years) when the Ember Mug 2 appears in my feed. It comes with a mobile app that allows you to set your preferred temperature (max 145 degrees F). As long as there's coffee in the mug, it'll stay that temperature until the battery dies or the mug goes to sleep (sleep mode instigated by lack of movement and/or liquids). I quickly ordered, selecting copper (one of 12 available colors) and the14oz size (10 oz being the other choice).

Several days after we exchanged gifts, I asked Matt how he was liking the gift. He said he loved the Ember Mug 2, and that he never realized how quickly he would drink a cup in the morning just so it wouldn't grow cold. I can attest to this, as Matt purchased one (gray, 14 oz) for me after using his for just a day or two. It's quite the feeling to return to a mug with only a few sips remaining and those sips being just as rewarding and comforting as the first pour.

The Mug 2 comes with a recharging stand that we've plugged into our electric reclining chairs and resting on side tables beside us, allowing the cup to remain charging as we use them. The battery life isn't long (about enough time to gingerly sip 3 cups), and that's definitely a negative as I drink coffee all day. Matt on the other hand, doesn't mind, as he only drinks one or two cups in the mornings. As a result, I’ve placed my charger on to my home office’s desk, where it stays warm for as long as I’m drinking from it.

The mugs are well made, sturdy, made of ceramic and have a comfortable helft and handle. You can purchase a travel lid separately, if you want to take the mug with you in the mornings.

The price is steep, but if you can afford one, it's a luxury worthy of a splurge. You won't regret it.
