Before We Die, a British crime drama available on Amazon Prime or BritBox.

Lesley Sharp (famously Sky Sylvistry in Dr. Who) plays DI Hannah Laing in this British crime drama now playing on Amazon Prime and BritBox. Hannah is a playa. Her ex, her current lover, her co-worker . . . they all hot. And Hannah knows it, commanding the screen like the men she fictitiously beds.

I'm jealous of Hannah.

But, things do go wrong for her when her son is released from prison and rejoins society as a dishwasher, a job he got through his jail mate. Christian, played by Patrick Gibson, went to prison because his own mom turned him in for dealing drugs. Soon afterwards, Hanna's lover Sean (Bill Ward) disappears.

What comes after is a great story about a mother's love and sacrifice, a crime thriller and mystery, and a criminal leader Davor (Toni Gojanovic), who is a closeted homosexual who increasingly relies on Christian's loyalty, and just as importantly, discretion.

Also starring Issy Knopfler as Bianca (Davor's sister) and Vincent Regan as Billy Murdoch, Hannah's co-worker. The series has only 11 episodes which it winds up nicely in a not too tight bow.

I give this show 4 out 5 stars. You'll enjoy it, but it won't make any of your top 10 lists.
