You can't always eat gourmet. It's too rich, too refined, too expensive. Sometimes, you just want a good ol' home-cooked meal.
Chef satiates that craving. Written and directed by, and also starring, Jon Favreaue, this 2014 road comedy is a nice tender T-bone cooked to medium rare on the grill outside. You know what you're going to get and it's going to be delicious.

Favreaue plays a celebrity chef who gets burnt to a crisp by a food critic during a flame war on social media. He quits his job and opens a food truck with his son and friends. Co-starring Sofia Vergera, John Leguizamo, Scarlett Johansson, Oliver Platt, Bobby Cannavale, Amy Sedaris, Emjay Anthony, Dustin Hoffman and Robert Downey Jr in a cameo, Chef has a buffet of talent to draw from. And, it pays off in a warm, funny, not a bad way to spend a Sunday evening film that you won't remember much about the next day; but, you'll know you cleaned the plate with no regrets.
Four out five stars. Definitely worth the watch.
